Who we are
This forum is run by Bankasi Media, an independent studio in New York. Questions about this page go to bankasimedia.com/contact.
What we store
- Your account: username, email address and a securely hashed password (we never see or store the password itself).
- What you add to your profile: avatar, name colour, tagline, bio, links and banner. These are public.
- What you post: discussions, replies, likes and images you upload. These are public, in the categories they are posted in.
- Private messages: seen only by the people in the conversation. Staff see a conversation only if someone in it reports it; the report keeps a copy of the latest messages.
- Technical records: the IP address a post was made from and your sign-in sessions, used to fight spam and abuse. Staff can see the IP address of a post.
- Moderation records: warnings, suspensions and bans, and the reasons staff gave.
Cookies and storage
The forum uses a small number of cookies that it needs to work: one that keeps you signed in, one that remembers you if you choose "Remember me", and one that protects forms against forgery. If you open the [first batch] invite link, a cookie remembers that for 24 hours so the rank can be added when you sign up or log in; it is deleted once the rank is added. Your browser also remembers a few display choices, such as whether the Information board is collapsed. There are no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels.
Other services
- Email: account and notification emails are sent through our email provider. You choose which notification emails you get in Settings.
- Hosting: the forum and its database are stored with our web host.
We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers.
Uploaded images
Images you upload are re-saved by the forum before they are published, which removes hidden photo details such as the location a picture was taken. You can delete your uploads in Settings.
How long we keep it
Posts and your account stay until you or staff remove them. Deleted posts and uploads are removed from the forum; backups made by our host may keep a copy for a limited time.
Your choices
- Change or remove your profile details, uploads and email preferences in Settings at any time.
- Choose whether anyone or only staff can send you private messages.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for your account and posts to be deleted, through bankasimedia.com/contact. We answer within 30 days.
Age
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
